A Post Office store in Weymouth has gone on the market as its current owner sells up after more than two decades.
The store in Dorchester Road is described as a 'staple within the community' which benefits from an 'uplift' during the summer months due to its close proximity to the beach.
Existing owner David Millar has decided to retire after owning the store for 25 years.
It has now been put on the market by business property advisers Christie & Co, which is on the lookout for new owners.
The Post Office store also benefits from a mews building and a two-bedroom flat on the first floor.
“It’s been a pleasure to serve the community over the past 25 years and we have been lucky to have the support of the local residents, but the time has come to retire," Mr Millar said.
Matthew McFarlane, business agent at Christie & Co who is handling the sale, added: “It’s fantastic to be entrusted to sell Dorchester Road Post Office and store.
"This is an excellent opportunity to obtain a very well-run business with increasing sales figures in an idyllic seaside location.
“In addition to the well-presented store, the property also includes a vacant mews building and a two-bedroom flat on the first floor, which a new owner may wish to convert into additional accommodation, or to extend the business further.”
