BOURNEMOUTH SPORTS 4
BRIDPORT RES 6
BRIDPORT Reserves finished their Jewson Dorset Premier League season with a stonking 6-4 win over Bournemouth Sports at Chapel Gate.
Adam Herring’s men could only take 11 players to a ground where Sports have suffered just three league defeats all season.
Yet, with the score locked at 4-4, the Bees summoned a way to win with two late goals.
Bridport, who could finish 15th if Balti fail to take a point from their final game with Westland on Tuesday, took the lead on ten minutes via the spot.
Sol Ayunga, drafted in from the first team, drew a foul from Callum Dickenson inside the box and penalty specialist Dan Baggs stepped up to convert for 1-0.

Josh Moody equalised for Sports when his thunderous effort rattled both posts before crossing the line and Karol Borowski netted with a stunning direct free-kick for a 2-1 half-time lead.
What followed in the rain and murk was pure carnage as the goals flew in during the second half.
Jamie Trimble nodded Sports 3-1 up from Joe Cresdee’s free-kick but Adam Steele pulled a goal back and Toby Mann capitalised on pinball in the area to make it 3-3.
Bridport had to recover from behind again as clean-through home sub Madison Wilkin squeezed a good finish past Bees’ keeper Sam Moggeridge.
They did so in determined fashion as Ayunga grabbed Bridport’s second equaliser of the day on 78 minutes.
As the clock ticked into the 88th minute, Bridport would not settle for a point and went ahead for the second time during the game when Mann was felled in the box and Baggs blasted home for 5-4.
And with Sports pushing for an equaliser, Bridport killed the game off in ruthless style as Ayunga pounced on a mistake to score the tenth goal of an enthralling contest.
Speaking post-match, Herring said: “We went there with 11 and I had myself and the physio on the bench.
“The 11 we had was fairly strong. Like I said to the lads after the game, I’ve had a lot of doubts about whether this team is good enough for this level.
“It showed that we actually are if we fight for each other and play as a team.
“The attitude was brilliant and I think the fact that we kind of had nothing to play for, everyone was in a relaxed mood.
“They still had third place to play for and I think we shocked them, to be fair.”
Bees: Moggeridge, Baggs, Day, Elliott, Ja Scadding, Steele, Burwood, Mansley, Etherington, Mann.
