Two sets of young classical musicians will be providing an entertaining evening of music.
They will be performing at St Laurence's Church, Upwey, Weymouth on Friday, May 5.
The talented young musicians are the Morris Begg Duo of Ross Morris (guitar) and Ines Mayhew-Begg (soprano) – and, as a preliminary treat, countertenor Alex Hutton with his accompanist.
Morris Begg Ross Morris and Ines Mayhew-Begg began working together in 2019 at the Royal Conservatoire in Scotland.
Ross has performed across the UK as a soloist including at Helly’s International Guitar Festival and he toured with Glyndebourne Opera in 2021.
Ines is a Scottish soprano and has recently made her German Debut as Adele in Lyric Opera Studio Weimar’s production of Die Fledermaus.
The duo will be performing pieces by Purcell, and Villa-Lobos amongst others – with perhaps a few well known folk songs thrown in.
Alex Hutton completes his undergraduate studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama this year, and will then embark on a Masters.
The performance has been arranged by local charity, Upwey Music.
Tony King, one of the trustees, said: “It’s really refreshing to be able to offer an opportunity for new young talent and we look forward to a wonderful evening of music.”
Tickets are £10 on the door (cash only) or from www.ticketsource.co.uk.
