A two-vehicle crash closed a major Dorset A-road today.
The incident occurred on the A3030 in Caundle Marsh, near Sherborne, just after 10am.
The occupants of the two vehicles were taken to hospital for treatment, police confirmed.
Dorset Council's live travel map said that traffic was queuing in both directions along the route following the crash between New Lane and Bere Lane.
Police were in attendance with the fire and ambulance service and the route was closed while emergency crews deal with the scene.
The road was reopened at about 3.30pm and the local authority also attended due to fluid in the road.
"We were called at 10.10am to a report of a two vehicle collision on the A3030 outside Manor Farm in Caundle Marsh," a Dorset Police spokesperson said.
"Officers are in attendance with fire and ambulance services.
"The road is currently closed while emergency services deal with the incident.
"The occupants of the vehicles were taken to hospital for treatment.
"The local authority attended due to fluid in the road. The road reopened at around 3.30pm."
