WEYMOUTH’s mayor is celebrating the news that the coastal town has been named one of the top 10 destinations to visit during the upcoming Easter holidays.
The town was ranked fourth in Airbnb’s list of places to visit in Great Britain - with hearty praise afforded to its award-winning beach, parks, gardens and open spaces.
Cllr Ann Weaving, mayor of Weymouth, said the accolade was ‘great news’ for the town.
She said: “Weymouth beach has a lot to offer. There is the main beach which is ideal for those seeking a fun day out with lots of activities, whereas Greenhill beach is more relaxed for those residents and visitors looking for a quieter place to relax.
“The beach attractions are also situated along the beach such as, the Helter Skelter, Chairoplane, sand sculptures, donkey rides and many more. This makes it all inclusive for families and children when visiting the beach.
“It’s wonderful that Weymouth has once again been recognised and ranked so highly in the top destinations to visit in Britain. This is great news for Weymouth.”
