THE Dorchester Vegan Market returns to the historic Maumbury Rings Roman amphitheatre this spring.

The market is being held at the north end of the rings on Sunday, May 14 from 10am until 4pm.

Entry into the outdoor event is free - and the market will boast more than 50 stalls of 100 per cent vegan products - guests are welcome to bring their own blankets or chairs for relaxing and dining, organisers say.

There will be an "extensive offering" of stalls from local businesses, bearing delicious hot and cold food; tea, coffee and yummy cakes, ice-creams, tasty cheeses and other fine cuisine.

There will also be vegan health and beauty care products, ethical clothing, eco-friendly items, jewellery, information and advice and more.

In case of rain, all stalls will be held under gazebos, so that the event can go ahead "rain or shine."

And if the English weather permits, there will be an inflatable play zone featuring bouncy castles and slides to keep children entertained, plus free afternoon 'space yoga' sessions in the rings for anyone to try.

"So whether you're vegan or just curious about the fastest-growing phenomenon of our time, everyone is welcome to join us at this lovely outdoor grass venue," a spokesperson for Dorchester Vegan Market said.

The venue is fully accessible throughout, and well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.

Access to the event is via the main entrance to Maumbury Rings on Weymouth Avenue, Dorchester DT1 1TY.

There are a number of public car parks within a few minutes’ walk from the site - the closest being Fairfield Car Park, Weymouth Avenue, DT1 1QW. All-day parking at that location costs £6.

All short stay car parks in Dorchester cost £1.50 for two hours or £2.20 for three hours.
