DORSET is braced for snow as temperatures are set to plummet over the coming days.
BBC Weather has predicted that some areas of the county are set for a dusting of snow and sleet on the evening of Tuesday, March 7.
Temperatures will be bitterly cold throughout the day with highs of just six degrees while at its lowest it'll be minus three outside.
The weather forecasting service has warned of sleet from 4 pm onwards on the day with snow predicted to arrive at around 10 pm.
Predicted forecast:
Dorchester - Sleet showers from 4 pm. Light snow predicted at 10 pm
Weymouth - Sleet from 5 pm until 11pm
Bridport - Sleet from 4 pm-10 pm. Snow predicted at 11 pm
Lyme Regis - Sleet from 5 pm-10 pm. Snow predicted at 11 pm
Portland - Sleet from 5 pm until 11pm
Another weather forecasting service, the MET Office, said in their long forecast: "There is an increasing chance of it turning more unsettled later with spells of rain or snow becoming more likely.
"Temperatures overall will be below average, but gradually trend up through the period."
