Two fire crews from Shaftesbury were called to a vehicle fire at 10.14 am today.

The fire, which started from a small vehicle in Salisbury Road, spread to a pile of logs, which had to be extinguished.

Firefighters carried out an inspection of the area to ensure the fire had not spread any further.

A thermal imaging camera was used to ensure the fire hadn't spread to a nearby outbuilding.

A spokesperson for Shaftesbury Fire Station said: "Two crews from Shaftesbury were called to a small vehicle on fire at Salisbury Road, Shaftesbury.

"Firefighters extinguished the vehicle using one hose reel jet and one breathing apparatus.
