Members of a club that practises moving meditation have held their first Annual General Meeting.
South Dorset Tai Chi Club, which meets at Zone Fitness on the Granby Estate in Weymouth on Tuesday evenings and Wednesday mornings, held its AGM at the Famous Old Spa pub.
Chairman David Milner said: "It was a special occasion, being the first AGM since the Covid emergency.
"The committee was re-elected with one additional new member and plans for events in 2023 were outlined.
"The club is in a healthy financial position and new members are very welcome to try out tai chi.
"This gentle form of martial exercise is recommended by medical practitioners as beneficial for COPD, balance and pain from arthritis.
"Members of SDTC say it helps with flexibility and as a form of moving meditation makes a contribution to general well-being."
The pub provided a buffet and the club presented several gifts to John Peel to mark his retirement from instructing after nine years.
"Mr Peel has given his time and expertise generously and sincerely, enabling the club to grow and members to develop their practice," Mr Milner said.
He will continue to train every week under the guidance of two other qualified talented instructors.
The club's next events are a weekend seminar on April 1 and 2 and a Tai Chi Day on April 29.
