AFTER nearly two months' worth of maintenance works, a road in Weymouth will re-open today.
Watery Lane in the Upwey area of Weymouth is back open after Wessex Water completed works to install a new water main in the area.
Works began on Tuesday, January 3 and had been due to finish on Friday, February 24.
However, Wessex Water revealed that the road was to be closed for a few more days due to 'minor technical' issues.
A statement said: “Due to some minor technical delays we are having to extend the completion date of our work, and therefore the road closure, by a few days to the end of Monday 27 February.
"We apologise for any further inconvenience caused and thank residents and motorists for their co-operation,” they added.
Around 510 metres of the road were closed from the junction to Stottingway Street to the junction at the access road to Wey Valley Farm.
A Wessex Water spokesperson confirmed that the works were due to be completed by the new deadline at the end of Monday, February 27.
