A FIRE in the open prompted an emergency service response to a nature reserve.
Dorchester Fire Station were called shortly after 5.30pm yesterday (February 25) after reports of a small fire in the open.
One crew attended the nature reserve opposite Frome Terrace, upon arrival, located the remains of an unattended bonfire.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze using buckets of water and an aqua pack.
A spokesperson for Dorchester Fire Station said: “At approximately 17:38 a crew from Dorchester were mobilised to a small fire in the open, in the nature reserve opposite Frome terrace.
“It was fortunate this didn’t spread. Please extinguish any fire before leaving it.”
