Reports of a man seen carrying a kitchen knife led police to search an area of Weymouth.
Officers attended Dover Road, Wyke Regis, following reports a man had been spotted with a blade in the area on Tuesday evening.
However, when they arrived at around 6:45pm, they were unable to locate anyone and no further concerns or injuries were reported, according to a police spokesperson.
A full statement from Dorset Police said: "On Tuesday, February 21, Dorset Police received a report of a man carrying a kitchen knife in Dover Road in Weymouth.
"There were no reports of any injuries. Officers attended and searched the area, but were not able to locate the man. No further reports or concerns were received."
The maximum penalty for an adult carrying a knife or weapon illegally is either four years in prison, an unlimited fine or both.
