Crews from Weymouth, Portland, Dorchester and Bridport rushed to tackle the blaze at Maritime House.
According to a fire service spokesman, approximately 25 firefighters were on the scene at the height of the incident.
A statement from joint Principals Lesley Bishop and Melissa Heppell wrote: "We can confirm that yesterday evening there was a small fire at Maritime House.
"The fire service attended quickly to extinguish the fire and make the building safe. Thankfully it was contained to the reception area of the building and happened after school hours. All staff on site were evacuated safely.
"Following a one-day closure the Academy will reopen tomorrow."
A fire investigation has taken place over the course of Monday evening and Tuesday, however, a fire service spokesperson has said the cause is still unknown.
