A fire broke out at a school site.
Firefighters were called to Atlantic Academy on Portland just after 4.30pm on Monday.
Crews from Weymouth, Portland, Dorchester and Bridport rushed to tackle the blaze at Maritime House.
According to a fire service spokesman, approximately 25 firefighters were on scene at the height of the incident.
After putting out the fire, crews then worked to ventilate the premises.
A fire service spokesman said: "Fire investigation officers will attend the premises and conduct a full investigation into the cause of the fire when it is safe to do so."
A spokesman for Atlantic Academy posted on social media: "There has been a fire this evening at Atlantic Academy Portland. Everyone is safe and the fire is now out.
"The fire service remain on site and have advised the school should remain closed tomorrow."
The school added there will be an update tomorrow afternoon if further closures are necessary and thanked the public for support.
