Adventures are in store for family days out in Dorset over Easter this year.

At Kingston Lacy near Wimborne youngsters can take part in Easter adventures in nature from April 1 to 16 and enjoy two new play areas in the woodland and Kitchen Garden.

Children are invited to put on their bunny ears and find 10 amazing activities around the Easter adventure field before claiming a tasty prize.

From late spring look out for the adorable lambs of rare breed Portland sheep jumping in the parkland.  Taking part in the trail costs £3 extra to the normal admission rate and includes a chocolate or vegan and free from Rainforest Alliance Easter egg.

At Corfe Castle near Swanage an Easter adventure trail will take place from April 1 to 16.

In 2022 the castle dragon lost a lot of her possessions, brave explorers searched the ruins and were successful in locating and returned them to her. This Easter, she has asked you to return to complete a new set of challenges found throughout the castle ruins. Have your face painted and dress up like a soldier, royal resident or a peasant as you set out on the dragon’s quest. The trail is £3 on top of normal admission rate and includes a chocolate or vegan and free from Rainforest Alliance Easter egg.

Over on Brownsea Island just off the coast of Poole, there will be an Easter minibeasts and birds adventure trail from April 1 to 16.

Embark on a woodland adventure and discover the birds and the insects they like to eat – from the red-breasted robin who waits for the ground to thaw to gobble up the worms to blue tits who wait to lay their eggs until there’s a glut of caterpillars to feed their hungry chicks. Take part in a bug and spoon race, see if you can build a giant bird’s nest or drum as fast as a woodpecker. The trail is £3 extra to the admission rate and includes the same choice of Easter eggs as the above.
