ANNUAL works on Weymouth beach will take place for four days starting from today.
Beach levelling will involve heavy machinery from Monday, February 20, with contractors on site between the hours of 7am and 5pm.
Work will take place between the Jubilee Clock and the Pavilion wall for four days.
Weymouth Town Council (WTC) has urged visitors to the beach to look after pets and children when walking.
Its beach team will be on-site to answer any questions the public may have about the works, with any sections reopened when it is safe.
People are also advised to avoid climbing on sand mounds which will be created during the works.
"The annual beach levelling works between the Jubilee Clock and the Pavilion wall will start this Monday, February 20 for four days," WTC said.
"Heavy machinery will arrive from 7am so please take care of children and dogs when walking along the beach
"The contractors will be working between the hours of 7am-5pm.
"Our beach team will be on-site to answer any question you may have, and as soon as it is safe to do so, the sections will be reopened.
"Please be aware there will be times when the beach will have sand mounds; we advise you, please do not climb on these for your safety."
