THERE is a vacancy on Lyme Regis Town Council following the death of Cllr John Broom.
Cllr Broom sadly passed away on Monday, January 2 at the age of 78.
Lyme Regis mayor Cllr Michaela Ellis said: “Everyone at Lyme Regis Town Council is saddened to hear of John’s death. He will be greatly missed for all the input he had in building and planning matters.
“He brought a wealth of knowledge and skills to the council and we will miss his wise words and expert guidance.”
Lyme Regis electors have until Thursday, February 23 to request an election to fill the vacancy.
If 10 or more electors make a request, an election will be held no later than Tuesday, May 2 2023.
Requests must be made in writing to Returning Officer, Electoral Services, Dorset Council, County Hall, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 1XJ or by email to elections@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk.
