A Great British Bake Off champion will visit Dorset to judge a cake competition at the Tank Museum.
Syabira Yusoff, crowned winner of the 2022 series, will join the museum's 100th birthday celebrations on Sunday February, 26, when it will mark the occasion with all things cake, including a baking competition and more birthday activities.
Baking enthusiasts will have a chance to meet Syabira between 10am and 12pm before she will announce the winner of the Baking Battle competition.
Winners of the categories ‘Best Novelty Cake’ and ‘Best Tank Themed Cake’ will win a half-day cookery school experience at luxury hotel, Chewton Glen.
Visitors are invited to share The Tank Museum’s 100th birthday cake and browse the sweet treats on offer at the baking fair.
Visitors can also learn about World War II rationing and have a go at completing the new 100th Birthday Bash Trail whilst exploring some of the tanks and objects in the Museum.
Tom Holmes, events manager at The Tank Museum, said: "We wanted to share our birthday celebrations with our visitors and what better way to do so than with a whole day centred around cake.
"We are really looking forward to Syabira judging the competition – I’m sure she will have a couple of difficult decisions to make."
The baking competition closes on 19 February, so there is still time for those wishing to enter. All entrants will get free admission to the museum on the day of the event.
