A man has been charged following a fatal road traffic collision near Beaminster.
Dorset Police received a report at 8.13pm on Wednesday, February 8, of a collision in A3066 Main Road in Mosterton involving a blue Mercedes and three pedestrians.
All of the pedestrians were taken to hospital by air ambulance for treatment. Very sadly, a woman aged in their 40s died in hospital during the afternoon of Thursday February 9
A woman aged in her 20s remains in hospital in a critical condition.
A third pedestrian – a young boy – sustained serious injuries that are not life-threatening.
A 40-year-old man from Yeovil was arrested on suspicion of driving offences before being taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
Following enquiries by the traffic unit, he has subsequently been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a road traffic collision, causing death by driving a vehicle while uninsured, causing death by driving a vehicle while unlicensed, aggravated vehicle taking and making threats to kill. He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 14 February 2023.
