More than 200 children from Dorchester enjoyed a festival of rugby thanks to a partnership between local schools and the local rugby club.
The Tag Rugby festival at Dorchester RFC was organised for local schoolchildren to get a taste of the popular sport without the tough tackling.
The event was organised by the Dorchester Area Schools Partnership (DASP), Chris Perry, headteacher of Cheselbourne Village School, Dorchester RFC and Rippa Rugby.
The festival was sponsored by sports leaders of Thomas Hardye School and Puddletown RFC.
It saw children from years 3 and 4 learn the skills and rules of the game before taking part in organised matches between schools.
Mr Perry said: "Children left the festival with smiles on their faces and schools received medals and rugby balls.
"We hope to see the egg-shaped ball in the playground in the near future.
"The plan is for this to now become an annual event."
