A DESSERT shop in Weymouth is to cease trading as a result of the rising costs of energy and ingredients.
Naughty Fork Desserts, based on St Mary Street, announced their last day of trading would be today (Saturday, February 11) after being open for over two years.
The firm, which offers a delivery service as well, said they had made the decision to ‘close the doors’ with a heavy heart.
A spokesperson for the company said they had ‘explored every avenue’ to continue but had ‘hit a brick wall’.
Naughty Fork Desserts serves a range of cakes, waffles, and cookie doughs as well as milkshakes and dog-friendly ice cream.
In their latest accounts, submitted to Companies House, the business reported employing an average of 15 members of staff during 2022.
Confirming the closure on social media, a spokesperson for Naughty Fork Desserts said:
“It is with a heavy heart and much sadness we say this but we have made the decision to close the doors at Naughty Fork Desserts forever.
“Due to the rising costs of energy and ingredients we can no longer remain profitable. We have explored every avenue to continue but we have hit a brick wall
“We would like to thank all our amazing customers who have supported us for the last 2 years
“Our last day open will be Saturday 11th February”.
