A MAN from Portland has been given a suspended prison sentence after admitting driving whilst disqualified.
David Donovan Lodge, whose address was given as Channel View Road on Portland, appeared before Weymouth Magistrates Court on Thursday, February 2.
He admitted one charge of driving whilst disqualified and one charge of driving without third party insurance.
The charge relates to an incident on July 12 of last year when Lodge was stopped at Fortuneswell whilst driving a Vauxhall.
Mr Leonard Vickery, chair of the magistrates’ bench, handed Lodge an eight week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and disqualified him from driving for 12 months to run from August 17, 2025.
Lodge must also pay £85 in costs and a surcharge of £154 to fund victim services.
