A couple who have been walking the UK coastline stopped off at a veterans cafe in Weymouth.
Christian Lewis and Kate Barron have been raising money for SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity, and are aiming to circumnavigate the country.
Christian, known as Chris, a veteran of the Parachute Regiment, received support and help recovering from the charity after leaving the armed forces.
He and Kate called in at the Veterans Hub community cafe in Wyke Regis and enjoyed a breakfast to fuel them up for the journey.
Chris began the walk in August 2017, and along the way he has rescued a dog, Jet and met Kate, with whom he had a baby.
He set off from Swansea with a leaky tent, a gas stove, a sleeping bag, £10 and a phone.
Helped along the way by well-wishers, he has raised more than £250,000 for SSAFA and has more than 100,000 followers on his Facebook page.
In August 2020 Chris met his partner Kate Barron in Scotland when they were both wild camping.
They hit it off straight away and six weeks later she accompanied him for the rest of the walk.
Kate continued to walk throughout her pregnancy and now their 9-month-old son Magnus is a passenger on their journey.
When the family called into the Veterans Hub they spoke to locals and staff about their journey.
Upon hearing their story, Chris and his family had two nights in a hotel paid for them by staff and a local veteran in Weymouth.
