PUPPIES which were stolen from Bournemouth last May have still not been found – despite “extensive enquiries”.

As reported last year, nine American bulldog puppies were stolen from an address in the Charminster Road during the early hours of May 24.

The following month, one of the nine puppies was found 160 miles away in Uttlesford, Essex, and safely returned to its owner.

In a social media post at the time, PC Adam Manly of Essex Police said: “Yesterday… a good day for me & PC Partridge after locating and a returning five-week-old puppy to its owner (and mummy) after being stolen during a burglary in Bournemouth! 8 more to go…”

A full investigation was launched in May to locate the puppies, after it was reported the victim heard male voices, but by the time they got downstairs the offenders had left the address.

Providing an update, a Dorset Police spokesman said only one puppy remains found and eight are still missing.

He said: “There were no further puppies recovered and no arrests in connection with this incident despite extensive enquiries.”
