Parking in selected Weymouth car parks is to be offered for free to those involved in charitable events.
In a partnership between Weymouth Town Council and Dorset Council, four dates have been selected in 2023 for when local organisations can use certain car parks for free for their events.
The charitable events must be aimed at attracting both residents and visitors to enjoy a day out in the town centre.
Weymouth-based charities and community groups can now request which car park(s) they would like to use free of charge by completing a short online survey on the Weymouth Town Council website.
The survey runs until 9am on Monday, February 20.
Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Ann Weaving, said: "It’s great to work in partnership again with Dorset Council to provide free parking to support key events that bring people into Weymouth to enjoy a day out.
"Last year, events including the beach motocross, Remembrance Sunday and the Christmas lights switch-on drew big crowds to our seaside town. So, if you would like to apply for free parking to support your event this year, complete our short online survey today."
The parking will be available in selected Dorset Council car parks across Weymouth excluding December.
Applications will then be considered by Weymouth Town Council’s Services Committee on Wednesday, March 1 before the successful organisations are announced.
