A MAN who has repeatedly been found with a mobile phone inside a prison has received an eight month custodial sentence.
Kieran Quigley, of HMP Portland, appeared at Weymouth Magistrates Court via video link on Friday, February 3 for sentencing.
The 30-year-old admitted possessing a prohibited item - namely a mobile phone - within a prison.
Quigley was caught with the mobile phone at HMP/YOI Portland on June 6 of last year; three months previously he had been sentenced to an additional six months in prison for the same offence.
Quigley pleaded guilty to the latest offence and was committed to prison for a further eight months: court papers say the offence ‘was aggravated by the defendant’s record of previous offending’.
He must also pay a surcharge of £187 to fund victim services.
