A MAN who placed a tracking device on a woman’s car to follow her movements has pleaded guilty to stalking his victim.
Sam Woods, also known as Samuel Paul Woods, appeared before Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, February 2 for sentencing.
The court heard how, between June 13 and June 21 of last year, Woods pursued a course of conduct which amounted to stalking in that he placed a GPS tracking device on his victim's car in the hamlet of Bagber - near Sturminster Newton.
Woods, aged 29, whose address was given as Woodmills Close in Stalbridge, admitted the offence at a previous hearing in December.
Chairman of the Magistrates’ bench Mr Leonard Vickery ordered Woods to pay a fine of £200, costs of £85 and a surcharge of £114 to fund victim services.
He must also complete 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days within a period of 12 months.
The defendant’s guilty plea was taken into account when imposing sentence.
