Investigations into the death of a woman at a Weymouth pub are continuing.
Officers were called to the Tides Inn on King Street at 12.45 am on Saturday following reports from the ambulance service of an 'unresponsive woman' at the address.
The woman, who had been staying in one of the pub's letting rooms upstairs, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter before later being released under investigation.
Dorset Police confirmed they were treating the death of the woman as suspicious and a local man had been arrested.
The coroner was notified and the woman’s next of kin were informed.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "The arrested man remains released under investigation and our enquiries are ongoing."
Cllr Tia Roos, Melcombe Regis Councillor, said: "My thoughts are with family and friends who must be very upset to hear the news, my condolences to them."
