MOTORISTS will have to contend with ten road closures across the county this month to allow for resurfacing work to take place.
The maintenance is designed to prolong the life of roads by coating them with a waterproof seal that also increases skid resistance.
Dorset Highways’ annual road maintenance programme includes a mixture of surface dressing as well as patching, micro-surfacing, road preservation and resurfacing.
To allow the work to take place safely, the area of the road being worked on will be closed. Daytime road closures are 9am to 4pm and night work is usually from 8pm to 6am.
Daytime work will take place on the following roads:
- South Street, Bridport – until February 9
- B3164 Birdsmoor Gate – February 10 to 13
- C6 Winterborne Kingston – February 13 to 16
- Connaught Road, Weymouth -February 13 to 17
- Glennie Way, Chickerell – February 14 to 16
- B3390 Affpuddle – February 27 to March 1
Nighttime work will take place on the following roads:
- Marston Road, Newell Junction, Sherborne – February 9 to 11
- Lower Acreman Street, Sherborne – February 20 and 21
- Radipole Lane, Weymouth – February 21 to 24
- East Street/Damory Court Junction, Blandford – February 20 to 25 and February 27 to March 1
