A PERSON with a suspected fractured ankle was rescued from a Dorset coastpath near Durdle Door.
Coastguard teams from Lulworth and Kimmeridge responded to the injured walker at Scratchy Bottom yesterday afternoon (Monday) at about 4pm.
They were believed to have a 'probable ankle fracture' and on arrival, the person was treated by Lulworth First Responders with Lulworth Rangers also in attendance.
"Working together swiftly due to the person becoming cold, all assets maintained casualty care [and] securely placed the casualty into a stretcher and made the difficult carry out down the steep slope back to an awaiting 4x4," Kimmeridge Coastguard said.
"With the person safely placed into the responders vehicle, the casualty was then taken back off-road to an awaiting ambulance at Durdle Door car park where teams again assisted ambulance crews with helping the person into the ambulance.
"Once safely in the care of an ambulance, both teams stood down and returned to station."
