WEYMOUTH’S Inner Wheel is celebrating the success of their ‘international lunch’.
The event helped to raise £400 towards overseas causes supported by the Inner Wheel and saw guest speaker Anna Kent talk about her book Frontline Midwife.
The book follows Anna’s experiences of working across South Sudan, Haiti and Bangladesh over a ten-year period.
She is now a community midwife for Weymouth and Portland, and works at Dorset County Hospital.
Weymouth’s branch of the Inner Wheel is part of the wider international organisation that is represented in over 100 countries.
It is the largest women’s organisation in the world with the three goals of promoting true friendship, encouraging the ideals of personal service, and fostering an international understanding.
The Weymouth branch meets every third Thursday at the Moonfleet Bowling Club and has been running since 1938.
