A WOMAN has been fined after being caught driving at nearly 100 miles per hour on a dual carriageway.
Beverley Louise Starr, whose address was given as Purbeck Close in Weymouth, was fined at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, January 24 after the matter was dealt with using the single justice procedure.
Starr, 40, faced one charge of exceeding the legal speed limit when, on June 1 of last year, her Audi was clocked at 99mph on the A35 Tolpuddle, in Dorchester: the legal speed limit being 70mph.
Whilst Starr did not attend the hearing in person she was fined £140 and ordered to pay costs of £95 as well as £34 surcharge to fund victim services.
Starr received six points on her driving licence with her guilty plea taken into account by the Magistrates’ bench when imposing sentence.
