It’s going to be another very cold start to the day with temperatures of minus 5C expected this morning.

Yesterday saw major problems on the roads with ice and a further warning of ice remains in place fthroughout Dorset until 10am today.

A yellow warning for snow is also in place for wider Dorset until 12pm today.

The Met Office said: "A few snow showers will affect these areas overnight and into Wednesday morning.

"Accumulations of a couple of centimetres are likely at low levels, with some of the higher ground seeing as much as 5-10cm.

"In addition, icy stretches are likely to form following showers.”

Bournemouth-based weather enthusiast UK Extreme Weather said the best chance of any activity in Dorset would be between 4am and 9am today.

They said: “It’s not out of the question that you’ll wake to a dusting, more especially for north and western parts of the county.”

Dorset has a “low” risk and may struggle to see anything wintry but UK Extreme Weather said it is not out of the question.
