THE A37 near Dorchester has re-opened after flooding had caused the route to shut.
The westbound section of the road, between Bradford Peverell and Grimstone, was shut for much of Monday, December 19 due to flooding. But according to Dorset Council's travel updates the road re-opened at 2:57pm.
A statement from traffic monitoring service INRIX had said: "A37 Dorchester Road Westbound closed due to flooding from Bradford Peverell (Bradford Peverell) to Grimstone (Grimstone)."
The flooding followed a yellow weather warning for rain in Dorset from forecasting service the Met Office.
Dorchester Fire Station said that it had been twice been called to people who have driven into flood waters and got stuck.
A statement from Dorset Police said:"We received a report at 4.39am of flooding on the A37 in the Stratton area north of Dorchester.
"Road closures were put in place and the local authority was notified."
