AFTER a week of bitterly cold weather, temperatures look set to rise in Dorset this weekend.
Dorset, like much of the country, has been subject to sub-zero temperatures at times over the past days, with weather warnings for ice a regular occurrence as well as the occasional dashing of snow.
Gritting teams have been spotted across the county in an attempt to ensure the roads in the area were safe to use.
In the early hours of Wednesday, December 14 some snow was reported to have fallen in Dorset in the areas of Weymouth, Dorchester and Portland, although this never settled.
But now the Met Office is predicting that temperatures in the region are to rise back to double figures.
Saturday, December 17 will see temperatures increase according to the Met Office with highs of eight degrees.
This is set to be followed by highs of 12 on Sunday and 13 on Monday as warmer air hits the country.
While it is set to remain relatively cold until then with temperatures peaking at four degrees on Friday, December 16 there are no further warnings of snow and ice for the county for the time being.
The last weather warning of snow and ice in Dorset was in place from 6 pm on the evening of Tuesday, December 12 until 10 am the following day.
