A mobility equipment company is the latest to support this year's Toy Appeal.

Rapid Mobility - based on Abbotsbury Road in Weymouth - has once again given its support to the Dorset Echo Toy Appeal with a donation of £100 which will go towards making sure less fortunate children have a present to look forward to this December 25.

Executive company director Warren Hicks said: "We at Rapid Mobility have always believed in the Dorset toy appeal. It is a great course for people who might need a smile put on their faces during the festive period.

"Every member of our team has a family and can relate to struggle. There are so many different charities that get highlighted around the Christmas period and the toy appeal is one that we like to consistently be a part of.

"If we can give even just a little contribution, it is the least we can do to help such a worthy appeal.

"Merry Christmas to everyone that it helps, and also Merry Christmas to all of our friends and customers!"

Rapid Mobility offers a variety of equipment and servicing for mobility needs from its Weymouth showroom.

Every penny of each donation goes directly to providing gifts to those less fortunate in Dorset.

Despite the pandemic, last year we received the highest amount of donations ever £8,348.

Debbie Hellaby, Newsquest Group Promotions Manager, said: "Sourcing, collecting and organising the toys for hundreds of children is not an easy task - the toys are usually matched to the age and interest of each child individually.

"We are delighted to accept the support of the Weymouth Rotary Club to facilitate the collection and collation of toys."

We were unable to put our toy collections bins out last year due to the pandemic but they are going out this year. We're grateful to Weymouth Rotary Club whose members will be helping us with the toy collections.
