AN exhibition of old photographs - Portland As It Was - is currently on display at Tophill Library.
More than 90 images dating from the early 20th century to the 70s show old timers in the quarries, school and church events, the Salvation Army Band playing in the ruins of St Andrew's Church at Church Ope Cove, Portland Borstal and houses in Straits and the Grove area which have long since been demolished.
The pictures have been loaned by Brian Stewkesbury from the collection he has built up through copies made from images loaned to him by family and friends. The exhibition will continue for at least the remainder of this week.
