Police have confirmed the death of a man at a holiday park in Dorset following a medical incident.

Officers were called to Weymouth Bay Haven, on Preston Road, at 9.45am on Wednesday, November 2, to reports of a man needing medical attention.

The ambulance service attended the scene and, sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

A caravan at the holiday park was cordoned off with emergency services present for several hours.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Dorset Police received a report at 9.45am on Wednesday, November 2, relating to a man in need of medical attention at Weymouth Bay Holiday Park in Preston Road, Weymouth.

"Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, and very sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious. The coroner has been notified and enquiries are ongoing to identify the man’s family members and inform them."

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 09:48hrs on Wednesday 2 November to an incident in Weymouth. We sent a double-crewed land ambulance and an operations officer.”

A spokesman for Haven said: "We are sad to confirm the death of a guest at our Weymouth Bay park.

"We are continuing to support the deceased’s family and the emergency services.”
