Trinity Manor Care Home in Sherborne welcomed two young majorettes over the half term break.

Residents and staff were delighted to welcome Jemima, 11, and Ruby, 6, into the home, bringing smiles and sparkles with them.

The two majorettes are the daughters of head housekeeper Steph Haycock, who was more than happy to bring her children into the home over the holiday period.

The girls are both members of the Merriott Majorettes, which started back in 1996 and who have been showcasing their talents at competitions, fetes and carnivals ever since.

Steph said: "They absolutely love being a part of a team and they both train so hard to do their very best, constantly striving to improve.

"We are always attending competitions and carnivals on our weekends, so being able to bring them into the home is fabulous practise for them both, as well as being a confidence booster for them both.

"It makes me feel so proud, especially when the residents are clapping and cheering them both on, clearly loving the praise they are getting."

Rebekah Goddard, Home Services Advisor at the home added: "What a joy it has been having them here.

"The residents have loved every second and especially up on our Memory Lane community, which looks after those living with dementia.

"One of our residents up there even gave Jemima a very sweet kiss on her hand as a way of thanking her for her performance, so heart warming, it was pure magic!

"We really hope to see them both again very soon and may be next time they can bring a few of their majorette friends too.

"Thank you girls, from the bottom of our hearts, you are both wonderful and have made so many people very happy."
