A man has been sentenced after stealing food and barbecue items from a Tesco.
Maurice Cooper, whose address was given as Addison Close, Gillingham, appeared before Weymouth Magistrates' Court on Friday, October 28 for sentencing.
He had pleaded guilty to one charge of theft from a shop.
It relates to an incident on April 21, 2022, when Cooper stole goods totalling £156.50 from a Tesco on Christys Lane in Shaftesbury.
Cooper, 50, was discharged conditionally for 12 months and ordered to pay compensation of £78.25, a £22 to surcharge to fund victim services and £85 in costs.
The defendant's guilty plea was taken into account when imposing sentence.
