Nothe Fort is set to enhance the experience of visitors with the hiring of a new Interpretation and Exhibitions Manager.
Jessica Bleasdale had joined Visit England's Best Small Visitor Attraction and will be responsible for ensuring the Fort's rich history is made more accessible and engaging for all visitors.
Jessica will also support the development of Weymouth’s Tudor House, which like Nothe Fort is operated under the auspices of Weymouth Civic Society.
James Farquharson, chairman of Nothe Fort, said: "We have a great story to tell but haven’t focussed enough over recent years on the way that we engage visitors with it. Expectations have developed and we are now in need of significant modernisation.
"With Jess’ help, in a couple of years’ time, all our current exhibitions will have been improved to some degree and we will also be well advanced in delivering some exciting major museum redevelopments, for example in our Cold War bunker and Victorian gundeck.”
