Road closures in Dorset: nine routes for motorists to avoid

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A303, from 9pm October 24 to 5am November 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 both directions Hayes End to Parkhouse - mobile lane works for drainage works.

• A31, from 8pm October 25 to 6am October 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 both directions Henbury, temporary traffic signals for Scottish and Southern.

• A31, from 9pm October 31 to 6am November 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 Ashley Heath westbound, exit slip lane closure and diversion for Off network road closure for Dorset council.

• A35, from 8pm November 2 to 6am November 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A35 Bridport to Dorchester - carriageway closure - maintenance works, diversion via . A35, A3066 to Misterton via A356 onto the A37 to the A35 at Poundbury.

• A35, from 8pm November 3 to 6am November 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A35 Dorchester By Pass - carriageway closure - maintenance works, diversion via . B3150 and pick up A35 at Stinsford HIll.

• A35, from 8am to 3pm on November 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A35 Berne Lane to Morcombelake stop and go road marking.

• A303, from 9pm November 4 to 6am November 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 eastbound, Mere to junction with A350 - lane closure for safety barrier repairs.

• A35, from 6am April 16 2019 to 6am December 16 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): Third party works - Dorset VIP - traffic signals and speed limit - A35 Winterbourne Abbas.

• A31, from 8pm September 20 2021 to 6am December 21 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 both directions Ringwood to Ashley Heath, carriageway closures for major projects, diversion via National Highways and local authority network.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
