After reading the ridiculous statements made by Ann Enoch (Are police discouraging visitors?', Echo, May 26) I felt I had to write.
She appears to have received a ticket from the Dorset Police for driving her vehicle at 36mph in a 30mph limit in the Dorchester area.
She bleats on about she has held a clean driving licence for 47 years and appears to completely miss the point that she was breaking the speed limit by a considerable amount, taking into consideration that she was probably driving in a built up area with pedestrians present.
Come on Ann, what is more important, your clean driving licence or the potential life long damage that you could have caused had you been involved in an accident with a pedestrian while you were travelling at 36mph.
With regards her ridiculous comment about visitors not being welcome in Dorchester, I doubt very much any local bowls club will welcome her if she is likely to come out with more excuses when she loses one end of a bowling tournament.

Ann Enoch's letter suggesting that a speed camera was positioned in Dorset to discourage visitors is utterly ridiculous.
Ann, you got punished because you broke the law. It's as simple as that and quite rightly so.
Unwittingly'? You should have observed the speed limit signs.
Next time you come to Dorset, slow down.
