SAILOR Hugh Duncan has left Cherbourg port after French protestors allowed around 20 British vessels to leave.
Mr Duncan, 58, Coombe Street, Lyme Regis, said he and three fellow sailors aboard the yacht Goodwill were among a 'mass exodus' of ships today (Mon).
The Goodwill was among many dozens of pleasure craft trapped in the port as French fishermen protested over rising fuel costs.
Mr Duncan, a member of Lyme Regis Sailing Club, left Britain for France last Thursday on a wine run with friends but got caught up in the trouble.
