Bridport’s energy champions are running a free event outside Londis on the green in Alexandra Road, Skilling today from 10am to 1pm.
The energy champions work in the community to help with free advice about how to keep homes warm, reduce energy needs and shift away from fossil fuels.
Town council projects manager and community initiatives officer Caroline Pearce said: “This event offers Skilling residents a chance to ask questions and get help from an energy expert from Ridgewater Energy (which runs Healthy Homes Dorset), advisors from the Citizens Advice Bureau and Bridport’s energy champions.
“They can answer all sorts of questions around energy, tariffs and ways to make homes warmer and cosier.
“If you have children, they can join in with a fun, free art activity led by Jo from Oops Wow Messy Art and artist Eileen Haste. Using recycled materials and imagination, they can create a house for the future and make creatures to live there with them – suitable for any child over two years old. Under fives will need close supervision from a parent or carer. It will be under cover if it rains.”
The event is funded by Dorset Council’s Community and Culture Fund.
