THE Loders Motor Group has teamed up with Help the Aged Dorset to support the charity's new fundraising initiative.

The campaign is being launched at eight events when visitors will be invited to guess the registration of a number plate that belongs to a new car.

The person that guesses correctly will win a car worth up to £10,000, selected from a range of Skoda, Toyota or Volkswagen models at Loders Motor Group.

The competition costs £1 to enter and all the money raised will be used to provide services for older people in the county.

Derek Wakefield, from Help the Aged Dorset, said: "We are looking forward to another busy season at Dorset's country fairs and events as this is always an important time to raise funds for the charity. To have the support of Loders makes this year especially exciting, as we are being lent a car to display at each of the eight events as a way to draw people's attention to the competition and raise more funds.

"We really enjoy working alongside a local company and appreciate all the support and guidance Loders has provided."

Help the Aged Dorset raises funds to provide a range of services to help older people. They include minibuses, community alarms, free fitting of security locks and smoke alarms, equipment and facilities for residential care, nursing homes and day centres, gardening help, shop mobility and support for small clubs.

Dale Cullen, from Loders Motor Group, said: "Loders has grown from a family business that has its roots in Dorset.

"We feel it is important to be part of and support local events and fundraising activities led by the community that surrounds us.

"Help the Aged Dorset is an invaluable resource to have in the county and Loders is delighted to be working alongside the charity to help make 2008 a record year for fundraising."
