Bere Regis
- SWIMMING Club chairman Bob Holman reports: The swimming club recently hosted a gala against Wareham and Bournemouth at the Purbeck Pool, Wareham.
The Bere Regis team did wonderfully well, winning 16 of the 48-race programme. Team members were, Hannah Neish, Hannah Russell, Annabelle Thorpe, Hannah Patton, Emma Menzies, Rose Butterfield, Rachel King, Koura Stuart, Isabel Smith, Josie Gamble, Holly Gamble , Kieran Patton, Alex Moore, George Hunt, Tyler Creech, Joe Brunt, Harry Butterfield, Tom Allen, Cameron Findler, Ollie Cowell, James Chapman, Michael Chapman, William King, Thomas Hunt and James Hunt. Team managers were Mark Neish and Tony King.
All the team members swam really well and there were wins for Hannah Neish, Emma Menzies, Hannah Patton, James Hunt, Michael Chapman, James Chapman and Thomas Hunt.
There were also wins for the girls and boys 13+ freestyle relay, the girls 12 freestyle relay and the boys 13+ freestyle relay teams.
It was a very entertaining and enjoyable gala with all three teams playing their part.
- BERE Regis Football club has training for juniors on Saturday mornings from 10.30am until noon at the recreation ground.
All children are welcome from reception to under 10s.
Qualified coaches are involved, and these sessions are both educational and fun.
- THE Pop in Place will be running village quiz on Monday June 23.
This event has proved to be a popular occasion for a fun filled evening. Please enter a team of four people at the cost of £1 per team member. There will also be a raffle.
Everyone is most welcome.
- THE Pop in Place Open Gardens event is on Sunday, July 13 from 10am until 5pm.
Twelve gardens will be open for you to enjoy, and it should be a delightful day.
Do come along and support this event.

- DON'T forget the grand Bere Regis duck race and barbecue to be held on Friday, June 6 from 7pm until 9pm at the scout hut in Elder Road.
There will be races at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
There is a first prize of £10, second prize £5, and third prize a bottle of wine.
Thee will also be a raffle and other stalls.
The event is aid of church funds.
Please buy a duck for £1 and come along and join in.
- GUIDED tours of the church are now well underway on Tuesday mornings at 11am and on Thursday afternoons at 3pm.
The tours last for about an hour. There is no fixed charge for them, but the church is always very happy to receive donations towards its upkeep.
