MEET the neighbours - that's what members of Dorset Business and the Somerset Chamber did at The Eastbury Hotel in Sherborne.
The event, sponsored by the Academy for Chief Executives, was the first time the two chambers of commerce had joined forces.
Organisers said that it proved to be a fantastic success. More than a hundred business people attended. They met new faces and build up useful business contacts.
The afternoon began with a drinks reception followed by a two-course meal. There were also introductions and table swaps between courses.
Peter Scott, chief executive of Dorset Business, the Chamber of Commerce & Industry, said: "The event was fantastic and it was great to work more closely with our neighbour chamber in Somerset.
"Both chambers want to provide as many opportunities to their members as possible, and this is a good way for people to do business together across the counties. Both chambers have decided to hold a joint event at least twice a year.
"Dorset Business is also looking at replicating the event with other chambers in the area."
