CHILDREN were taught the danger of rural roads during a special safety event.
Police community support officers (PCSOs) Vickie Hedges and Jacqui Allen visited Broadmayne First School to teach them to stop, look and listen when crossing roads.
Youngsters practised safe crossings and discussed different types of rural traffic and the importance of wearing cycle helmets.
Miss Hedges said: "We want children to play out and have fun in the villages but we want them to be equipped with the skills to be safe and seen.
"This is also a good way for them to get to know their PCSOs and know they can always talk to us whether something good or bad has happened."
