JUST HOW GREEN HAVE YOU BEEN?By Richard Edmonds, Earth Science Manager for DCC.
"I DO a 54-mile commute every day. I car-share but it's still a long way.
I've also just invested in a diving rib with a big engine. Actually it uses about five litres an hour which isn't too bad.
On a more positive note I avoid supermarkets because of the excessive packaging and instead use local shops.
There are some lovely shops in Axminster including one which sources its meat from within 10-15 miles and a farm shop where you get a paper bag and pick your own.
I recycle as much as I can and I have a wood burner so anything that isn't recyclable usually goes in there.
I also have solar tubes on the house which were, admittedly, expensive to install even 17 years ago, but having said that during a really hot summer a couple of years ago I think the water heater went on four times between May and September."
